How to Make a Home Theater

When you commission a designer to lay out a home theater, you are doing so for your loved ones as much as for your own amusement and convenience. A home theater is something that should feel exclusive, but still has all of the same things you would find in a professional theater, just altered to suit your specific needs and desires. You should also create an area of excitement and it should be mostly clutter free; when owning your own theater means that you get to personalize your viewing experience.

The basic requirements of seating, the means of viewing, and the equipment involved are obvious when considering theater furniture. The key that sets home theaters apart from your common living room is the atmosphere. This room should be tidy and clear of distractions; you do not want excess furniture or clutter, unlike your living room.

You should make room for as many home theater chairs as you comfortably can, and have minimal tables or excessive furniture around. Rather than on an entertainment center, taking up extra room, if you own a flat screen television, it always looks better to have it mounted on the wall. The same goes for DVD or Blu-ray players, cable boxes, and video game systems and all of your other electronics could be neatly moved out of sight. Allowing you to press buttons and send a signal without needing to point directly at the receiver, many remotes and controllers are all connected to the unit by Radio Frequency (RF) components, so you can move these units out of view, minimizing clutter and distractions.

If you have a large collection of DVDs, Blu-rays, and/or video games, then you could also want to assign a wall and install shelves or even cabinets that can easily store and potentially hide your assortment from sight, making them easily available, but not in the way. In most situations, you can get cabinets with glass panel doors and still easily work with your equipment so you could also store your devices with them.

The more free area you have in your home theater, the more impressive it will look. When trying to take in a movie, show, or game, you do not want your guests having to maneuver around a lot of clutter and unneeded furniture. Aside from the features, it will allow you to have a more fun, easy-going experience in your own home and will also prove to be a more enjoyable environment.
